Abdalians Alumni Home

Abadalian-13 joined HasanAbdal on 26 May 1966. This day is celebrated now as a regular event as family picnics. Abdalian-13 celebrated their 42nd Birthday at Mangla Resort on 26 May 2008. The event is about a year old, but the news is being published now for the benefit of others. This may also motivate other entries to follow suit.

Col. (R) Irtiza Shaheen, who was based at Mangla, was the host of this event and Abdalian-13 families from Lahore and Peshawar were also invited. One among these at Sahiwal also made it with his family. The function was held on a raft with live Bar-B-Q and Puri.  Starting with a late breakfast / brunch, participants remained busy going down memory lane and eating the whole day and concluded it by cutting the Birthday Cake. The cake was jointly cut by the Abdalian-13 children. The function was dominated by very well organized boat rides for ladies and the kids.

Abdalians of 13 Entry have maintained the Abdalian slogan – Abdalian Once Abdalian Forever. They have formulated 13th Entry Local Chapters – mainly at Lahore & Islamabad. Shahid Ahmad initiated the organization around 30 years back as a small periodical event that has now turned into Monthly Family Dinners.

Abdalian-13 are now functioning as an organization with a strong social network, mainly in Lahore and Islamabad with a convener/chief organizer nominated on rotation. Family dinner nights are held on monthly basis in rotation, reminding good old days of Hasanabdal. Available teachers, at times are also invited. Whether these are birthdays of individuals, promotions, distinctions for Abdalians or within their families, marriages and God forbid any mishap, Abdalian-13 need no reason to sit together. They were One and are One. Ladies too spend their evenings with enthusiasm sharing domestic notes, new markets and changing trends. These functions have proved as a strong platform for sharing and resolving issues. Children too find some opportunities to share views on Education, computer developments and sports. They are always ready to communicate new ideas and help on education as mentors.
