Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military) conferred on two Abdalians

The President of Pakistan conferred Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military) on two Abdalians at the last Pakistan Day held on 23rd March, 2009. The awards are announced once a year on the Independence Day and given on Pakistan Day to the people of Pakistan by the President. For those in the military it is given after distinguished service and is also the highest medal award that can be awarded to those at the rank of Major General/Lieutenant General. This year the award was conferred upon Maj Gen Muhammad Ovais Mustafa, SI(M) belonging to the 13th Entry and Maj Gen S. Ithar Hussain Shah, from the 15th Entry. Gen. Ovais has recently been posted to head the MVRDE in Rawalpindi, from his earlier position as DG ITD in GHQ. |
Maj Gen Ithar Hussain Shah is an Artillery officer and until recently was commanding the Artillery School in Nowshera.
