Dr. Faisal Manzoor, in a very tragic incident of target killing was martyred very close to his home at 8:15 pm on 12th May, 2014. The news spread like wild fire in the Abdalian community, with sentiments of utter disbelief. Faisal, who left his hospital, Hassan Medical & Surgical Complex was intercepted by gunmen when he was very close to his home, and opened fire on his car. Dr. Faisal's cousin, Dr. Babar Ali (18th Entry) incidentally, was martyred at the same place, in a similar manner about two months ago.

Dr. Faisal's burial took place on Tuesday, 13th May, 2014. The funeral procession left his home at 4 pm and went to Hassan Surgical & Medical Complex where the hospital staff paid their last respects. The coffin was later brought back for the namaz-e-janaza, which was offered on the main GT Road, and then taken for burial in the local graveyard. The funeral was attended by a cross-section of Hasanabdal locals, ulema, friends, Abdalians from broad range of entries, and people from differnent walks of life.

Faisal Manzoor, belonged to the 22nd Entry and was from Liaqat Wing. He also remained the Secretary General of Abdalians Association and has been serving the Association in one position or the other since 1999. A passionate Abdalian, he had an aura of love for his friends and his help was forthcoming for everybody. Faisal du-e-soyem will be held at his residence on Thursday, 15th May, 2014 at 11 am.

Faisal Manzoor - you will be missed by your friends and it was no easy task bidding farewell to you. Our prayers go out to the family and may Allah bless his soul and give him his choicest place in Heavens.
